House Hunting

House hunting, house hunting, make us a match, find us a find catch us a catch.

Tim and I are feeling the anxiety of sifting through tons on homes online. In this process we've come to discover that some of our picky factors include:

  • Curb Appeal- some of the houses have the driveway behind the home, and some are situated so that the face of the house doesn't really exist. Isn't that weird... you never see the face of your house!?!?!
  • Entry way- it bugs me to death to see homes where the front door is included in the living room or with direct access to the stairs.
  • 1 common wall with your neighbor- Ummm hello that is called a duplex, not a detached single family home.
  • Need more pictures- There should be definitely more then 1 or 4 pictures. Aren't people trying to sell a product.
  • Picture taker-We don't care about people's bed and night stand, we want to see the rooms and the floor plan, and by the way get better cameras and take straight pictures.
  • Pool or no pool- I've never really imagined that I would have a house with a pool. But apparently a few are in our price range... what's to come of it?
  • Brand new homes vs. older resales- New home are still very new, large, pretty, and make us feel like our money is worth the beauty, comfort and distance. But the older homes that are in our preferred location are old, small, and ugly, yet they have the potential to be built better; though still in the need of much elbow grease to meet our ideal standards.
We are looking forward to the future with excitement. We are hoping to be in a home by or before Feb. 09. Soo full steam ahead!
