Waiting and Waiting

So it's been a while since we posted but we wanted you all to get a little taste of what we're going through waiting to see if our house is gonna come through or not. J/K

Seriously though, It's been over 100 days since we first signed the contract for the short sale and we are still expecting to wait until mid July before we hear anything definitive. It has been a test for us, but good as well. We've had time to step back and evaluate our decisions and look at other possible properties. Probably the most distressing part is that the pre-approval that we had from our bank, (that we got in November last year) expired. So the awesome rate that we had locked in is not available anymore, in fact it's about a whole percentage point higher. Blahhhhhhh. But we're still hopefull and look forward to getting a home and having a backyard and a garage and a place to be us without fighting for parking spaces or worrying about our down stairs neighbors catching the apartment on fire with their smoking.

On a slightly lighter note, Sonia planned and put together an awesome BBQ for all the young men and young women in our ward and their families. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed the party. She planned everything, right down to the table clothes and the Hawaiian decorations. She even got all the families to stand and get their pictures taken together.
I got to cook which was fun and intimidating at the same time, because the ward super chef was there to critique my work. But I think it turned out OK and everyone seemed to enjoyed the food, and nobody died or had to be rushed to the hospital so I chalk that up to a success for me. :)

All in all we are well and just tired of waiting, but we also know that it'll be a great first home for us and the perfect next step for us. Hope your all well and happy.
